June Party at S.O.S.

Last Friday we had a great time celebrating the kids at S.O. S. We had five birthday kids to celebrate. A 4 yr. old girl and 9, 12, 14, and 18 year old boys! This was the most we have had at one time and it was great. The kids started off the evening with a scavenger hunt which took them to every room and hiding place possible, all leading up to finding the prizes at the end. Laughter and excitement definitely was a great way to start off this party. Next, the kids played a couple rounds of charades which was fun and a wonderful way to break out of their shells. We concluded the games with the all-time favorite of musical chairs. The kids can never get enough of this fun, competitive game.

Cupcakes and ice cream were delicious. Cupcakes were decorated in baseballs, basketballs, as well as some adorable flower and pink pearl frosted ones too! They almost looked too pretty to eat, but that didn't stop anyone. They were delicious.

The kids loved their gifts. From Lego's, basketballs, pillows and books to princess dolls and color books, they were all very pleased.

Thank you to Maria Garcilazo for sponsoring this party, as well as Christine DuVal for the most amazing cupcakes. We were also blessed to have Josh and Yvette Graves help out as well. We would also like to thank Debby Case x2, for the beautiful pillows made especially for each birthday child. They are something the kids really look forward to.

June Party at St. Francis

Yesterday was a great day for a party. We were so fortunate to be able to celebrate 11 year old Destiny's birthday. We had a smaller group of about 10 kids and lots of fun to go around.  We started off making candy necklaces with gummy lifesavers, peaches, fruit loops, pretzels, and more. Next, everyone enjoyed cake and ice cream.  Thanks to Melody, the library coordinator at St. Francis, for baking such yummy treats.  Our birthday girl loved her monster high doll, book, and craft kits, donated by Julie McDonald and Amy Taylor. We then played a few rounds of birthday bingo. Everyone recieved a bingo and a box of Girl Scout cookies!  We concluded with three games of musical chairs, which was highly competitive and brought lots of laughs and smiles.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors, and the Girl Scouts for those tasty cookies.
